Kickstarter Campaign to Fund 155 Freeman

This September we'll be opening a new arts-and-culture center at 155 Freeman Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with our friends Light Industry and The Public School. We've just launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $20,000 to support our first year of programming. Please consider making a donation—every dime counts. Incentives include a special issue of Triple Canopy put together and introduced by writer Rivka Galchen, a personalized email and Web project by artist Cory Arcangel, and original artworks donated by R. H. Quaytman and Paul Chan.

Together, our groups will organize performances, classes, artist talks, readings, panels, workshops, concerts, and weekly film screenings—all of which will be open to the public. We've signed a five-year lease, which means relying on the continued generosity of donors near and far—which is to say we’re relying on you. By contributing to our Kickstarter campaign, you can help us establish this truly alternative space and support the work of the many innovative artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, and educators with whom we collaborate.

The opening of 155 Freeman Street marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for all three groups, and we hope you’ll be a part of it.
