Tektite Revisited
James Merle Thomas & Meghan O’Hara

A digital project, part of Bad Actors
  • James Merle Thomas is a San Francisco–based writer, editor, and curator. He is currently completing a dissertation in the Department of Art History at Stanford, where he researches intersections between art, science, and politics of the cold war. He was the 2011–12 Guggenheim Predoctoral Fellow at the National Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institution.
  • Meghan O’Hara is a San Francisco-based filmmaker who holds an MFA in documentary production from Stanford University. Her current work focuses on the contemporary relevance of representations of the cold war. Along with Mike Attie, she is in production on a documentary that follows a group of Vietnam War reenactors, many of whom are veterans of recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Tektite Revisited” was commissioned by Triple Canopy through its 2010 call for proposals for the Research Work project area, supported in part by the Brown Foundation, Inc., of Houston and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
